    Daniel Horton is missing and presumed drowned after he and David J. Faulkner, 37, fell overboard from a skiff while trying to pull up crab pots near Brown Point on the Hood Canal, near the southern end of Jefferson County's Toandos Peninsula.

    Neither man had on a personal flotation device as they rowed out from a beach party near Brown Point to retrieve the crabs to cook. The accident was witnessed by people on the beach.

    The Coast Guard immediately launched a helicopter from Port Angeles. The helicopter crew pulled Faulkner from a rescue boat which had reached him. He was treated for hypothermia and was later released. According to Faulkner, Horton was last seen trying to swim to shore after they both fell in. The water temperature at Hood Canal is 51 degrees with a wave height of 1 to 2 feet.
