  • Details of Disappearance
Carrie Ann was last seen by her boyfriend at the Comfort Motel where they were living. Carrie Monroe, who was 26 at the time, had two children ages 2 and 5, when she disappeared. Monroe was staying with her boyfriend, who is the father of her two-year-old son, at the Comfort Inn on the Berlin Turnpike when she left on Jan. 20, 2010 and never returned.

Friends reported her missing to Berlin police nine days later.

In the days following, Berlin police were able to determine that she had been in an apartment in the south end of Hartford after she left Berlin, items of hers were found at the apartment. Berlin and Hartford police searched the residence and determined that was the last place she was but from there, the trail went cold.

Her boyfriend later moved out of the motel on the turnpike and into the YMCA but was arrested on several outstanding warrants in the days following her disappearance. Monroe is originally from Waterbury. Carrie Ann hadn't been spending much time around her family at the time, yet this kind of disappearance is highly unusual.
